Where do we start when it comes to talking about arguably the most famous shoe of all time? Lets try the beginning. The history of converse shoes spans the history of 20th century America.

It started in 1908, when Marquis M. Converse opened the Converse Rubber shoe Company in Massachusetts. By 1912 the company first started producing athletic shoes for tennis and by 1917 the sport of basketball changed forever with the introduction of the first performance basketball shoe, the Converse All Star. A year later, Charles H. Taylor, paired with his first pair of All Star shoes went on to introduce a nation to basketball and Converse.

Wearing the Converse All Stars is like wearing a piece of history. In an industry where change happens every time you blink, you can always count on Converse being there to remind you of the beginning. If you don't see another pair of Chucks for 10, 20, or even 50 years you can guarantee they'll be just how you left them.
