Fila Settanta MK1 - Chinese Red/Gardenia/Peacoat
The Fila Vintage track record for bringing back in-demand retro styling with its re-released originals is unsurpassed, the Settanta Collection – a three stage release of the most legendary pieces from the 70’s and 80’s Fila archive.
In 1973 FILA launched its first tennis collection designed by Pierluigi Rolando. FILA White Line was the beginning of an era that saw FILA redefine sportswear with an injection of colour, and an iconic design signature. Adopted by the Italian playboys and country club crowd FILA became the sports brand everyone aspired to wear throughout the 1970’s and 1980’s.
Settanta Mark I was the first tracksuit designed for Borg. The first version launched in 1976, with the iconic ‘F’ badge on the chest. In 1977 the dual branded FILA BJ line was seen for the first time at Wimbledon when Borg proudly lifted the trophy after having beaten Jimmy Connors in the final.
Fila was started in 1911 by the brothers Fila in the shadow of the Italian Alps. Its original focus was on making fine fabrics in the early century materials capital of Biella, Italy. The brand grew from fabric production into making undergarments and ultimately sportswear. Fila established itself early on as a high-end, high-quality sportswear maker and grew into a very successful global brand. The quality and luxury of its products attracted the likes of Bjorn Borg, Tom Watson, Reinhold Messner and Alberto Tomba.
Fila is once again poised to succeed on a global scale with its commitment to quality Italian design and craftsmanship, fine materials and luxurious performance products.
In the 80's Fila tracksuits, sweaters and polo's were adobpted within the football casual culture and have enjoyed a recent revival after being featured in the popular British films 'The Business' (2005) and 'The Firm' (2009).
